Mark Kreul

Kreul is manager of food safety and technical services for In-N-Out Burger, a chain that rests its success on doing a few items exceptionally well. Simplicity is the key to the chain’s faithful following, says Kreul—and the fresh, high-quality beef. Kreul was raised on a purebred Angus farm in a family that’s been in the beef business since 1896. Shortly after he arrived at CALS, the meat science and muscle biology faculty swept him up with their “contagious pursuit of knowledge and application,” Kreul says. “The meat industry has been my passion ever since.”
